Hi,
I'm wondering what is the upgrading policy for charmm. Is it going to cost another $600 to upgrade to the latest version? Thanks!

Yes. A modest cost, comparable to a commercial Fortran compiler or Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator, and a great deal less than the cost of CHARMm from Accelrys.

It is kind of a waste to purchase a new license if I'm interested in only a small new function in the latest release. I wish that the license policy could be more flexible.

If you are really still using c32b1, an upgrade is overdue, regardless of your specific interests; there are numerous improvements, and many new features, which you may be interested in later.

The money helps support the continued development of academic CHARMM, and the CHARMm agreement with Accelrys may limit what can be done wrt. to licensing policy.
